Gaia Rising
In book one, The Sixth Sun humans saved by Osirians, are told they owe a debt of gratitude to the immortal Osirian race and volunteer for a manned space mission to a planet that is
emitting a radio signal. The Osirian quest to discover why they are immortal had been fruitless
until they found life on Earth. The planet this mission is destined to explore is dubbed Elysia
located in the Tarus system (both named in honor of Osiriat’s king and queen) and is located 59
light years away from Osiriat which itself is hidden in the Sirian binary system. An emergency
distress signal is received from the ship, Osiriat VII and all are feared dead. King Jupoler and his
sister/co-ruler, Arop (newly appointed King and Queen when Tarus and Elysia retired) gather, at
the behest of Tarus, the crew of Osiriat VI who readily agree to join what is considered a
hopeless rescue mission. To their astonishment, Captain Adam survived, but contrary to his
ultimate directive, never interfere with societal growth, he appears to be treated as a God
ordained by the Goddess, Gaia, amongst the primitives. From here we witness 4750 years of the
Osirians desperately trying to convince the inhabitants of the planet Gaia, through Adam, to
embrace the science they once knew to join the Osirians in exploring space.

Ted Barber grew up in a home where storytelling was a way of life and reading was lovingly encouraged by his parents. With a natural flair for words, he was selected as editor of his high school’s creative writing magazine—poised for a future in writing until life took him down a different path.
Though his career shifted, his passion for storytelling never wavered. When his daughter was born, Ted began crafting imaginative children’s tales just for her, later expanding into poetry, short stories, and novellas. Over time, he became fascinated with alternate history, intrigued by how a single choice or phrase might have reshaped the world as we know it.
Today, Ted brings that same curiosity and creativity to his writing, inviting readers to imagine new possibilities through stories that challenge the boundaries of history and reality.
